Susan reflects on Dwight Eisenhower’s special friendship with the Queen dating from his time as Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in Europe during World War II. She shares little-known anecdotes about their correspondence and her first official visit to the United States in 1957, during Eisenhower’s second term as President. In Susan’s own words, Queen Elizabeth II was “a real North Star”. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
